While other George McClennon jazz 78s might be dominated by a liberal share of barnyard squawking out of McClennon's vaudeville act clarinet, this June 1926 coupling is from the one session that sounds like he was backed by a terrific working band that had its act together. They have their own sound, and there's only a minor peep or two out of McClennon - any other bleating is well covered by the band. Rust incorrectly lists these sides with vocal. They are both hot instrumentals, and it's very scarce - first time on eBay for this release and it's a very nice copy. "While You're Sneakin' Out" was released on Yazoo's Jazz The World Forgot CD series and can be heard on Youtube. .
