DESCRIPTION:   Jazz clarinet solos by Jimmy Lytell on splatter wax Pathe.  Between 1926 and 1928 Jimmy Lytell recorded many clarinet solo sides for Perfect / Pathe, choosing some of the notable jazz and novelty tunes of the day.  These solos all have a loose, improvised feel with Lytell free from the limitations of a band format and are well worth adding to an early jazz collection.  This Pathe from January 1927 features Dick McDonough on banjo and an unknown cornet.
