DESCRIPTION:
The notorious "Shave 'Em Dry" by Lucille Bogan with piano by Walter Roland. This was recorded at the end of a July 19, 1933 session and pressed on the Brunswick 'test only' series (TO 1317) possibly for Art Satherly. Almost two years later, Bogan and Roland recorded a cleaned up version that was released. This copy is a white label party record release backed with a lame double entendre side. Not so with Lucille - it's authentic rent party filth. Hand written P. B. on label as it was thought to be by Pearl Bailey. Plays loud and clear with quiet surface. Tight hair crack that doesn't sound.
