Description

ARTIST:  Martha Copeland

LABEL:   Columbia 14327

TITLES:  I Can't Give You Anything But Love / My Daddy Don't Do Nothin' Bad

CONDITION:  E+

DESCRIPTION:  Like new copy of Martha Copeland race series Columbia on which she's accompanied by Rube Bloom on piano and the little known Irving Peskin on cornet. This is "Kid" Peskin's only listed jazz side, and he gets off a fine full chorus cornet solo with active encouragement from Martha Copeland on "I Can't Give You...".  From the collection of Dave Caughren, a pioneer collector who purchased dealer stock copies of classic jazz 78s from New York's Commodore Music Shop in 1939.  I will be offering an assortment of 78s from his collection over the next few months.
