BRADLEY KINCAID on CHAMPION LABEL (Lot of 3)

Three scarce Champion (electric Gennett) issues from the late 1920s, including the elusive #15787, which is included in CMR but missing from the Docks price guide. All are strong players with decent surfaces; these usually don’t turn up in such nice condition.

Side 1 has a small shallow pit (probably a pressing bleb) that tracks fine but clicks lightly 5-6 times; see at 10 o’clock position in the scan.

We have 40+ years’ experience packing and shipping vintage sound recordings. 78s are shipped in new, heavy-duty oversized boxes with ample reinforcement and cushioning, via USPS Media Mail. We combine shipping for purchases made within three days of each other. Please note that because eBay requires us to ship within three days, we do not hold records beyond that time for combined shipment.

GRADING SCALE:

Grading is conservative and guaranteed accurate. Note that these are visual grades, based upon degree of wear and any visible damage or defects. Actual playing quality depends upon many variables, including the quality of the pressing material (for instance, an E-grade Columbia Viva-tonal generally will be quieter than many E Victor Orthophonics, and much quieter than the average E budget-label pressing); proper stylus selection (Grand Prize Victors that sound awful with a standard 2.5-mil stylus play beautifully with a 4-mil, etc.); and the characteristics of your playback equipment.

E+       Near-mint, full original gloss, with no wear or scratches. A premium copy in all regards.

E          An excellent copy with nearly full original gloss and only slight traces of use. Scuffs and scratches (if any) are inaudible and barely noticeable, unless noted otherwise in the listing.

E–        Less pristine than full E, but still very glossy and showing only slight traces of wear. May have a few light, inaudible to faintly-audible scuffs or scratches; anything more serious is noted in the listing.

V+       A very good copy, still quite serviceable. Still reasonably glossy, with light, even groove wear throughout. Sound level is still well above surface noise, which is apparent but not overly intrusive. May have a few light, audible scratches and/or scuffs. No significant distortion or stressed grooves unless noted.

V         A more heavily worn copy than V+, with a bit of surface shine still left but pronounced graying throughout. Sound is still reasonably strong, but surface noise is pronounced. May have some lightly stressed grooves and/or audible scuffs and scratches.

V– / G+ / G       Dulled surfaces and heavily worn throughout, usually with audible scratches. Sound still surpasses the considerable surface noise, if only marginally. V– is still a barely passable listening copy. G is still intelligible, but may not be a pleasant listening experience. Sufficient for filler copy or Victrola fodder, at best.

F          A badly battered copy on which some music remains audible but surface noise is overwhelming. Not recommended, except for items so rare that they may be unavailable in better condition.

P          Unplayable.

RETURNS POLICY:

Returns are accepted only for items that have been incorrectly graded based on the above scale; that contain a significant defect not noted in the listing; or that have been damaged in shipment. Before returning any item, please contact us through eBay to explain the problem. Problems must be reported to us no later than 7 days from the date on which the package was delivered, as determined by USPS tracking info. Reimbursement for return shipping is limited to actual cost at USPS Media Mail rates. If a different shipping method is used, the sender is responsible for any cost in excess of the Media Mail rate.

IMPORTANT: High-resolution full-surface photographs are retained of all records shipped, showing distinguishing markings and characteristics. Returning a record other than the copy shipped, as determined by photographic matching, will negate any refund and may result in a fraud complaint being filed with eBay.
