"V-Disc history is one of the great chapter of recorded music history and of WWII Part of the war effort, many musicians of all backgrounds recorded new music for the military abroad. Throughout the theater of war around the world,  a wide array of musical styles permeated the airwaves, Swing, Fox Trot, Classical and more.  900 songs in 7 years were recorded The masters were destroyed, as ordered,  and discs confiscated on the way home. Thankfully some survived..."
