Description
According to Bruce Eder on AllMusic, the Three Peppers “were a jive trio consisting of pianist Oliver ‘Toy’ Wilson, guitarist Bob Bell, and bassist Walter Williams, who began recording in 1937 for the Variety Records label.” Later they moved to Decca. Here the Three Peppers play “If I Had My Way” and “Serenade in the Night,” recorded on May 27, 1937. Condition E--
NOTE: I grade records by a rating system that has been standard in the industry for decades. Still, it can be a subjective undertaking. I am more likely to grade by how the record reproduces aurally (I use a 78 Shure cartridge with a 1950s Voice of Music turntable that has been fit into a 1946 Magnavox Belvedere radio-phonograph) than by how it looks visually. Sometimes a record that appears substantially worn plays very well and sometimes the opposite is true.price rating
