Houcine Ben Bouchaïb (1918–1951), nicknamed Houcine Slaoui (in Arabic: حسين السلاوي)

 because of his birth in Salé, was a Moroccan singer-songwriter and oud player who left his mark on the history of Moroccan popular music.


He is considered the father of Moroccan chaabi music.
