78 rpm Meteor records, Memphis Tenn. In Oct.1955 Malcolm Yelvington recorded Yakety Yak under the name of Mac Sales and The Esquire Trio because of being under contract of Phillips of Sun records when he recorded "Drinkin Wine Spodee O Dee" on Jan of 55', to avoid any legal trouble. Yelvington, now in his late thirties, was not excited about the rockabilly sound, and by 1958 he and his bandmembers parted ways. Yelvington struck out on his own as a solo artist, but had no luck and eventually quit music, concentrating on raising his family of five children. He was essentially forgotten until the 1980s, when popular music historians began digging into the Sun back catalogue; fans and concert promoters attempted to bring him out of retirement. His career saw a resurgence in Memphis as a rockabilly revivalist, and in 1997, he released his first full-length album at the age of 79. By the time of his death in 2001, in Memphis, Tennessee, he was regarded as an elder statesman of country music and rockabilly.
THE NIGHTCAPS, one of the first widely known white blues bands, were formed by high school frienThe Nightcapsds Billy Joe Shine (vocals), David Swartz (guitar), Jack Allday (drums), Mario Daboub (bass) and Gene Haufler (rhythm guitar) in 1958. Over the years they became fixtures on their local Dallas, Texas blues scene, greatly influencing the blues and R&B acts that subsequently prospered in the region. As well as performing blues standards such as Muddy Waters' "I've Got My Mojo Working" and Junior Parker's "Next Time You See Me", The Nightcaps wrote several affecting originals. The most noteworthy of these were the singles "Thunderbird" and "Wine, Wine, Wine". "Thunderbird" was later covered by devotees ZZ Top early in their career. During this period, they became a major influence on such future luminaries as Jimmie Vaughan -- who apparently learned every song off the Nightcaps' LP -- and his younger brother, Stevie Ray Vaughan, who thought Wine, Wine, Wine was just a great record, and ZZ Top. Vaughan would later record "Thunderbird," and ZZ Top used it to open their Fandango album. Billy Joe Shine still leads a revival version of the band in the Dallas area with Lead Guitarist(an original Nightcap)Gene Haufler, along with Len Mills on Rhythm Guitar and Keyboard, and brother Dennis Mills on Bass, Mark Minton on Drums, and Richard Williams on Saxophone.

Near mint - Like new without any flaws with an occasional and few light scratches. Anything better than that would be considered Mint condition.
VG+, - Thin line scratches with little or no effect on playing record. Plenty of shine on disc.
VG, - Some scratches with some pops during play, but not so disturbing, very good with some shine.
G+ - Plays with many light scratches but still can hear the music.
G- -Enjoying the music, but with more undesirable noise
F - Fair condition with scuffs and scratches and low audio quality.
