Our Grading Scale
Shipping We grade all records based on the Goldmine grading scale, which is summarized here:
- M (Mint): Brand new and perfect, still sealed.
- NM (Near Mint): Nearly perfect, almost as new. Possibly played a few times. No apparent marks, writing, or other defects.
- VG+ (Very Good Plus): A nice copy with slight wear. It may have minor marks, writing, or small seam splits, but nothing that would significantly detract from its sound or appearance.
- VG (Very Good): A normal used copy. It may have marks, writing, seam splits, or other defects. You should expect some surface noise on a VG record. These are records that have been used and listened to.
- VG- (Very Good Minus): Used as a grade in between VG and G+. The record has heavy wear or marks but plays closer to a VG.
- G+ (Good Plus): Generally beat up records that are still playable. They may have heavy marks or playwear. Covers may be tattered, have large seam splits or be written all over.
- G (Good): Heavily worn or battered records that are playable, but will certainly have heavy surface noise, including clicks and pops.
- F, P (Fair, Poor): Unplayable. We don't sell these records!
