A year or two ago,I was given as a gift,a set of Richard Tauber 78s,and they are now my prized possessions. Since being given them,I have come across second copies,and I am delighted to share with you now,those duplicates I have of the great Richard Tauber. Born in Austria in 1821,Richard was an actor,singer,composer and conductor. His first public appearance was in May 1912 and he later appeared in The Magic Flute. Richard made appearances in the 1920s at The Vienna State Opera,and there was no stopping this very gentle and fine entertainer. His films were sell-outs and he sold many records,crossing the line between opera and popular music. He sadly passed away in 1948 in London,England from lung cancer,the cruelest that could happen to anyone,especially such a singer as Richard,but he left us a whole mountain of his recorded work,which is often re-issued on CD,as new ,younger fans of his music are discovering his unique voice. These SIX discs,are all on The Parlophone label and each one is in super condition. Add these to your own collection right now,or perhaps you may be a novice in 78s and are looking for inspiration. You need look no further,for these SIX incredible records are simply wonderful.
