Description
Bundle of six pop / rock 78rpm 10" gramophone records from the late 1950s. NOTE: five are shellac, and one is VINYL. Detail are:
1. SONNY JAMES: The cat came back / Hello old broken heart. Capitol label, CL14635. EX condition, great shine and hardly a mark on it. Plays great. Clean bright label with no writing and little signs of spindle wear. Supplied in company sleeve in good condition with no splits or tears, just a little writing top right on one side, and the colour has faded a little.
2. TERRY DENE: Start Movin' / Green Corn. Decca label F10914. EX- with a great shine and a few surface marks. Plays through very well. Card sleeve branded "Keating & Rumens" in very good condition with a hand written label on each side top right.
3. THE DIAMONDS: Faithful and True / Little Darlin' Mercury label MT148. THIS IS A VINYL DISK, NOT SHELLAC. VG+ with some surface marks, but plays through well. Pye/Mercury sleeve is good condition - no splits or tears, just a little writing top right on one side.
4. GALE STORM: Ivory tower / I ain't gonna worry. London label HL-D8283. EX with a good shine and very few surface marks. Plays through great. Clean bright labels. Card sleeve branded "Keating & Rumens" in very good condition with a hand written label on each side top right.
5. THE TARRIERS: The banana boat song / No hidin' place. Columbia label DB3891. EX- good shine a few surface marks and a couple of light scratches that don't affect play. Plays through very well with only minimal surface noise even in the very quiet passages. Plain brown sleeve in good condition with a little writing top right on one side.
6. PAUL ANKA: Diana / Don't gamble with love. Columbia labale, DB3980. Good+ not a lot of shine, lots of surface marks and light scratches. Surprisingly this still plays through pretty well with no skips and not a lot of surface noise. Plain brown paper sleeve with no splits or tears but it has a shop stamp "Botterell & Sons" on one side.
NOTE: Test played on specialist hi-fi light weight pick-up, not steel needle.
The disks will be packed securely in layers of bubble wrap and thick card to prevent damage in transit. The cost includes packing materials. Please leave feedback once your item arrives; this lets me know it has arrived safely and I will then give you feedback. If the disk arrives damaged, please let me know before you provide feedback and send a picture of the damage – I can usually arrange a refund.
