Description
This is another group of of Glenn Miller 78 RPM records from my collection of over 60 years. This group includes the first records made by the Glenn Miller Orchestra on the RCA Victor label, before it disbanded in September, 1942. Previously, the orchestra had always recorded for RCA's Bluebird label. The numbers and titles are as follows: 27873 American Patrol/ Soldier, Let Me Read Your Letter (vocal by Ray Eberle and the Modernaires); 27879 Sweet Eloise/ Sleep Song (Vocals Eberle/Modernaires; 27894 Knit One, Purl Two (Vocal Marion Hutton-a rare slow number for Marion) / Lullaby Of The Rain (Eberle-Modernaires)/ 27933 Yesterday's Gardenias (Eberle-Modernaires) / The Humming Bird (Hutton, Beneke, Modernaires) / And.. two from the movie "Orchestra Wives": 27934 I've Got A Gal In Kalamazoo (Beneke, Hutton, Modernaires) / At Last (Eberle); 27935 Serenade In Blue (Eberle's last recording for Glenn Miller-he was fired for being late several times) / That's Sabotage (Hutton); 27943 Conchita, Marquita, Lolita, Pepita, Rosita, Juanita Lopez Hutton, Beneke, Modernaires) / Long Tall Mama; 27953 Dearly Beloved/ I'm Old Fashioned (Skip Nelson's first recordings with the band). These records are all in paper sleeves, and the quality of the records is super. The last of my Glenn Miller 78 rpm collection is coming up next.
