Nice lot of 9 Country 78s.8 on the Columbia D with 1 being on the Victor Scroll label.The first 78 is an early Gid Tanner on Columbia D label # 15016.Songs titled Boll Weavil Blues on one side with I'm Satisfied on the other side.The I'm Satisfied side is very nice looking with some very light scratches with a small amount of light scratches.Looks to have 2 very small scratches that are feelable with fingernail.Looks to also have some light scuffing.Has a very light groove dimple indention area at about the 1 O Clock that will not affect play at all.Some groove wear but still has lots of nice groove shine.Boll Weavil Blues side looks nice with a small amount of very light scratches and a small amount of light scratches.Has 1 very small scratch I can feel with fingernail.Most of side has great shine with with a some light white spotting wear most likely caused when record was cleaned.3 very light raised groove spots near end of song that will not affect play at all.Their only raised extremely lightly so I'm not sure exactly what they are.Record looks better than it sounds.2nd 78 by The Leake County Revelers on Columbia D label # 15149-D.Songs titled Leather Breeches on one side and has Johnson Gal on the other side.Johnson Gal side pretty nice looking with some very light to light scratches.Has 1 very small scratch I can feel with fingernail.Has some light scuffing with 1 small scuff feelable with fingernail.Some groove wear but still has lots of groove shine.The Leather Breeches side has multiple vey luight to light scratches with 4 small feelable scratches.Also has several scuffing marks.Has some groove wear but still has good decent shine.3rd 78 by The Cartwright Brothers on Columbia d label # 15220-D.Songs titled Kelley Waltz on one side with Honeymoon Waltz on the other side.Honeymoon Waltz side has some very light to light scratches with 5 scratches I can feel with fingernail.4 of the feelable scratches are very small.Has multiple light scuffs.Good groove shine.Kelley Waltz side has some very light to light scratches with 4 small scratches feelable with fingernail.small light white colored groove pit I can also feel with fingernail.Multiple light scuffing marks.Has some groove wear mostly near end of song.Side still has good decent groove shine.4th 78 is by Theron Hale And Daughters.Victor scroll label # 40019.Songs titled Turkey Gobbler on one side with Listen To The Mocking Bird on the other side.Turkey Gobbler song is great as Theron Hsle makes his violin sound just like a Turkey.Turkey Gobbler side has multiple very light to light scratches with 3 small scratches I can feel with fingernail.Has scuffing with 2 scuffs I can feel wit hfingernail.Has groove wear but still has decent groove shine.Listen To The Mocking Bird side has several very light to light scratches with 9 scratches I can feel with fingernail.Has several scuffs as well.Has groove wear but still has decent groove shine.5th 78 is by Arthur Tanner & His Cornshuckers.Columbia D label # 15145-D.Songs titled Knoxville Girl on one side and has The Jealous Lover on the other side.Knoxville Girl side has multiple very light to light scratches with 3 small scratches I can feel with fingernail.Has several scuffing marks and also has 3 lams near edge of record.1 Lam stops at very first groove.Other 2 lams are approximately 3/8th of an inch or slightly shorter.None of these 3 lams will affect play.has some groove wear but still has decent groove shine.The Jealous Lover side has multiple very light to light scratches with 4 scratches I can feel with fingernail.Also has several scuffing marks.Has a light 3/4th inch long lam at about the 5 O Clock area of record that starts about 1/2 inch into record from edge.Appears light and I don't believe it will affect play at all.1 small K shaped light stamp on trail off part of record.Has groove wear but still has decent groove shine.6th 78 is by Roe Brothers & Morrell.Columbia D label # 15199-D.Songs titled Goin' Down The Road Feeliong Bad on one side and has My Little Mohi on the other side.Goin' Down The Road side has multiple very light to light scratches with 4 small scratches I can feel with fingernail.Also has several scuffing marks.Has some groove wear but still has quite abit of groove shine.The My Little Mohi side has several very light to light scratches with 6 small scratches I can feel with fingernail.has several scuffing marks and a very small edge flake not near grooves at all.Some groove wear but still has good decent shine.7th 78 is an odd Comedy monolog 78 on the 15000 series Columbia label # 15166-D.Its by Green B Adair.Songs titled Talkin' About My Gal one one side and has A Trip To The City on the other side.Beautiful looking 78..The Talkin' About My Gal side has a couple of very light to light scratches with 3 very small feelable scratches.Couple of small light scuffs.Has tons of Beautiful looking groove shine.The A Trip To The City side has 3 very light scratches with 3 very small scratches feelable with fingernail.Has 2 extremely light lines at about the 6 O Clock which occured when record was pressed and made.These definately will not affect play.Couple of very minor small extremely light to light scuffs.Side has tons of beautiful groove shine.8th 78s by some of Gid Tanner and The Skillet Lickers.Has Clayton McMichen,Riley Pucket,Gid Tanner,Lowe Stokes,Bert layne,Oscar Ford,Tom Dorsey and even Uncle Fuzz.This is on Columbia D label # 15598-D.Tougher to find high number 78 from the Columbia 15000 series.Songs titled Jeremia Hopkins Store At Sand Mountain Parts 1 and Part 2.Record not in great condition.Part 1 side has several scratches with about 20 scratches I can feel with fingernail.About a half dozen of the feelable scratches look a bit deep.Multiple scuff marks and pretty noticeable groove wear.Small edge flake chip not near grooves.Mostly on this side as its barely on the other side.This sides label has circlular scratches and label wear as well.Part 2 side has multiple light scratches with about 25 scratches I can feel with fingernail.Has scuffing with a couple of deeper feeling scuff lines.Has groove wear but still has some shine.Also has label wear.9th 78 is a Great looking 78 except for a 1 and 1/4th inch long lam on one side near end of song.Record is by Miner Hawkins and is on Columbia D label # 15067-D.Songs titled A Coal Miner's Dream on one side and has The Song Of The Sea on the other side.The A Coal Miner's Dream side has a few extremely light barely noticeable scratches along with a small cluster of 5 tiny scratches I can feel with fingernail.Small amount of very light scuffing with 1 very small light scuff.The lam is near end of song on about 1 inch of the grooves with the remaining 1/4th inch going to label on trail off part of record.Lan can be felt extremely lightly with fingernail.Its a pretty noticeable looking lam but i doubt it will affect play as it can barely be felt.Has a light 2 inch long groove indention near edge at about the 9 O Clock.This is light and will not affect play.Has tons of Great looking groove shine.The A Song Of The Sea side is Beautiful with 2 small extremely light barely noticeable scratches.Very small amount of extremely light scuffing.Couple of very small groove pit marks.Side has tons of terrific looking groove shine.A very interesting batch of 9 Country 78s.If the buyer is not 100% satisfied I have a return for refund on all records I sell.
