Description
If you like them Really old, here's a nice one. This is one of those "historically fascinating but socially embarrassing" types of disc. Pictured is a Zon-O-Phone (Zonophone), National Gram-O-Phone (Gramophone), 9 inch, etched label, single sided record. It is number 560 and is titled "My Sunny Southern Home", by the Haydn Quartette. It is announced and has no etchings or labels of any sort on the flip side. This 78 record plays pretty well for its age. Better than I ever expected. It has some surface noise, but not a lot. No loud scratches or skips. Very good. The record is mostly talking with a small bit of singing. It is also VERY racial ("N" word usage etc.). If this sort of thing bothers you, you're better off ignoring this listing. Thanks for taking a peek!
Please note: this record will be shipped insured. Anything over basic insurance, I will pay. That's the reason for the high-ish shipping cost. Sorry about this requirement. I have ratcheted down my starting bid prices to help cover this increased cost. Thanks for understanding.
I'm primarily a cylinder record collector. However, over the last 45 years I've latched onto lots of discs. Either they had musical interest, they were odd or had somewhat rare labels, or were just plain cheap. As I get older I realize that it is time to shed some of the weight. None of my kids has the slightest interest in these old recordings so I figured its up to me to get rid of them. They will be offered here on and off until the supply is exhausted. Now and in the future they will be listed in no particular order other than the order they emerged from storage in. If you don't see something you like, check back every so often. You may see something great. Thanks for taking the time to look!!
