9.30 FLY - self titled
A highly presentable, very nice condition and much sought after UK 1st press copy of this 1972 prog/psych gem on the highly collectable EMBER label

The nice thick, weighty and completely flat gleaming vinyl is in truly impressive condition and in normal daylight comes across as virtually perfect, retaining a lovely jet black sheen. Close inspection under a bright light reveals just a few small and extremely light hairlines/scuff marks - purely superficial, non-obvious, and no impact whatsoever upon the excellent sound quality. To be really picky I would grade the condition of side 1 as EX- and side 2 as EX+. Excellent labels - unmarked apart from some small and very light spindle trails adjacent to the centre hole on each label (x2 on side 1 and a few on the side 2 label). The non-laminated and quite obviously textured outer gatefold sleeve (notorious for it's fragility) remains highly presentable and is in overall very good plus (VG+) condition. Each edge remains firm with just the hint of a very light 7cm diagonal crease towards the front side top right corner (there is no other creasing at all), mild but noticeable and continuous scuffing on the bottom and top edges, the corners remain nicely defined right angles but with mild rubbing, and the spine remains rigid but with sporadic light scuff marks though the spine text remains legible. The only other blemish is the mild ring wear on the front and back sides (see photos), with minimal ring wear on the inside cover, for which this textured first press copy is notorious. I have also just noticed that the original price of "1-50" has been written in back biro towards the top right corner of the reverse side. Excellent (EX) stereo audio quality (at least "excellent", actually) with no skips, jumps, repeats, clicks or background interference/crackle - superb musicianship with every track a great listen on this "under the radar" (when first released some 50 years ago) prog/psych gem. Comes with original and excellent condition plain white poly-lined inner sleeve with no splits, tears or edge fraying.
A rare and sought after 1970 original UK 1st press prog gem, highly presentable, a great listen and a "must" for any serious vinyl rock collection.

Note that I always insert the vinyl(s) into a new plain white poly-lined inner sleeve in order to protect the original during postage, and separate this from the sleeve itself to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these precious records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me.

Descriptions of any records I sell comply with the Rare Record Price Guide grading guidelines :
Mint The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
Excellent The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
Very Good The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
Good The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
Fair The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
Poor The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing
Bad The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
