Description

An original 1st MONO press of OLDIES on UK Parlophone from 1966. Matrix 1G/1G. Please note the publishing credits are all found on the left side of the labels [as you find only find at 1st issue]. I'd love to say that all copies from this period were pressed solid like this example - but that's not always the case. The vinyl comes housed in an original G&L cover. We have the original inner sleeve too. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) In very nice condition and has only seen light  use.  Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side, a few very superficial markings - nothing heavy though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly  NEAREXCELLENT level of playback with a couple of deviations. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Michelle [the super fussy track] plays very well, but with some light background here and there [probably better than a lot of copies]. The other fussy tracks are Submarine & Rigby - which both play back absolutely superb. A couple of isolated ticks in Ticket To Ride....Yesterday is an absolute pain to find playing well - this example only exhibits a few low level crackles - pretty good really. The only track which was a bit subpar is RIGBY. I'm getting a few crackles and a couple of clicks early in the track. Not bad - but a shade or two down on the rest of the LP. All the Beatles classic hits in mono from 1966. Hard to resist.
Cover (Vg+) The front looks gorgeous and with jut one thumbnail. The rear looks, on the whole, really nice with some light ageing creeping in in top sector. Minimal edge wear mostly and firm openings. 3 c.m. wear-through bottom edge - tape secured internally. The spine is 99% intact. The cover still retains excellent rigidity. 
Inner (Vg+)A touch of ageing , but no splits.
