Description

An original very 1st mono press of this title on the UK Parlophone label from Xmas-1966. Matrix 1G/1G. Please note how the publishing credits are all found on the left hand side of the labels - this infers 1st pressing. Also note that pressing weight was quite variable for this 'hits' title. I can find some where Emi have gone a bit 'cheap' and are a bit flimsy. I am pleased to report this copy is much sturdier than many copies you can find - go heavy! The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L flipback  cover. We also have a generic white inner sleeve from the time.
Vinyl (Ex) A lovely looking copy which has only seen light to moderate very careful use. Under close inspection all I could make out were a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are really nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. A terrific rendition of these Beatles classic tracks even into the more trickier tracks. Michelle is a difficult find playing clean - but this copy manages it by and large [much much better than what typically surfaces]. Yesterday, again, plays much better than you typically tend to find - the odd crackle but very clean. Ok, there are a few crackles in a couple of isolated moment per side. But by and large this true 1st press is very very capable and delivers these classic tracks with aplomb. Not many play at this level - consistently. Highly recommended.
Cover (Vg+) A shiny and flat front with just some stress creasing at the spine edge. The rear exhibits a bit of ageing in places [e.g. top leading edge of the upper flipback]. The flipbacks are intact, but the bottom one exhibits a bit of scuffing. Edge wear is relatively slight and the spine is in excellent order with all text legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Lightest ageing. No splits.
