HERE IS a great jazz record from 1927, "A GOOD MAN IS HARD TO FIND," backed with "DEAR OLD SOUTHLAND" by THE ORIGINAL WOLVERINES. This session was a happy reunion of the band that in 1924 established Bix Beiderbecke as a major voice in jazz. Featuring original members DICK VOYNOW (piano and leader) and VIC MOORE (drums), along with new members JIMMY McPARTLAND (cornet), MIKE DURSO (trombone) and MAURY BERCOV (clarinet). It's HOT music, any way you cut it.
The record is a landmark in itself: It is the very first issue by the COMMODORE MUSIC SHOP in its twenty year record-making career, and it's the VERY first jazz reissue for collectors, of any kind on any label. This is Commodore 100, issued in 1934, with its barely legible, hand-printed white label, when the very concept of jazz record collecting was hardly known or mentioned, and usually in connection with juvenile delinquency, drug addiction and general depravity when it was. Come to think, that's still the case!

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
