A Hard Day's Night by the Beatles.

PMC 1230

Early UK mono pressing to the best of my knowledge.

Firstly, the record:

Visually superb. Almost no signs of handling or use. An extremely light mark or two either side but you've got to squint for them. It seems to have barely seen daylight let alone much turntable action.

Both labels show just the tiniest shred of spindle wear - invisible from any particular distance.

There is a small superficial dent on the side of the disk which may be a cutting anomaly or may be damage but either way I wouldn't call it a significant flaw.

I've play tested it & it sounds as deep & warm as a good bath like these heavyweight sixties mono copies should. The run ins are quiet, there are no skips or jumps & really not much deterioration in sound quality at all.

Secondly, the sleeve:

E J Day flipback version. These are rarer & made of thicker card than their G & L counterparts.

In superb shape. Strong, clean & intact with sharp corners & spine. An extremely light crease on one top corner I'd the only real flaw.

I've seen a fair few of these records & this is among the best - a real time warp job. If my own copy wasn't an inheritance with sentimental value I would be upgrading it to this one in a heartbeat.
