Straight, solid seams all around, no wear or splits. Touch of wear to flat, straight spine. One bumped corner.

Singer Nate Pruit and guitarist Rick Vandivier along with keyboardist Ed Manning. Vandivier and Pruitt achieved growing recognition in the 1980s in the dynamic South Bay sextet led by keyboardist Ed Manning. Along with Vandivier, Pruitt and Manning are Bert Pittman - bass, vocals / Dave Silliman - drums, congas, bells, triangle, vibra-slap and other percussion / Bob Johnson - saxophones.

Though the group appeared at a number of international jazz festivals and attracted the attention of the music cognizenti and other jazz and soul musicians, they never got the attention and fame that a major label would have brought. This self produced and privately issued LP is widely considered a lost soul/jazz gem; though their earlier LP is also quite solid. Both feature fat grooves, an almost alchemical communication between the players and spectacular, original writing and arrangements, killer, groove-centric production with stellar playing all around.

*Over the years, a deep musical connection and friendship evolved between Vandivier and Pruitt. One of their musical pairings solidified into a group called Threesome with the well known bassist Benny Rietveld, best known for his work with Santana and Miles Davis. In 1994 they took the name Primary Colors and recorded the bands 1999 debut album, “We Know How It Feels”.
The music of Primary Colors embraces a wide range of musical styles. In this group, Vandivier pushes the limits by bringing his deep experience with experimental jazz guitar into a seamless fusion with blues and soul tradition and even swing, Latin and inspirational.

LP housed in protective poly outer sleeve.
Vinyl inside original anti-static rice paper inner sleeve.

All records packed with vinyl (inside inner sleeve) behind cover - and shipped in strong cardboard  LP mailers with bubble wrap around all sides - between stiff cardboard flats for best protection in the mail.
