Available is a copy of the release A PRAIRIE HOME ALBUM as performed by individuals associated with the Prairie Home Companion radio show. Artists listed on the outside front sleeve include Garrison Keillor, Judy Larson, Bill Hinkley and Stephen Gammell.

This is a Minnesota Education Records, Inc release originally published in 1975. No specific dating printed on this particular copy - but, I am operating with a belief the manufacture of this corresponds with the mid 1970s, as records suggest this title wasn't routinely repressed after its initial release... this is a vintage vinyl LP, not a reissue or recent offering.

This record features the catalog number MER 174 printed on both labels along with the exterior of the album's sleeve. The exterior sleeve remains encased in its original shrink-wrap but the side of the shrink has been ruptured to allow the record to be removed.

This record is in used condition and shows signs of not being kept in "museum quality conditions" at all times... while the vinyl is clean and free of any substantial defects, it is *not* completely pristine... it may feature some fingerprints, trace lines and scuffs, and general wear associated with having been played on occasion. However, there are no 'hard' scratches or other signs of wear that would automatically disqualify it from being thrown on the phonograph. The LP has been recently cleaned and tested and plays all the way through on both sides without interruptions. Upon playback one can expect to hear a consistency of "pop" and "hiss" that would normally accompany a vintage vinyl record in used condition.

Please note, while this record is substantially free of defects, there is a small flaw in the vinyl appearing in the middle of the song "My Mailbox is Empty" on Side 2… the issue is a pock-mark in the vinyl - the song "plays through" fine but the imperfection in the vinyl results in a light popping sound during the song for 4 or 5 rotations. Please see photo #11 for a close-up of this issue. It is clear to me this issue is a manufacturing defect as there are no accompanying scratches or other imperfections surrounding this little cosmetic blip.

Outer sleeve is in decent shape but does demonstrate some cosmetic wear... please refer to photo #s 1 through 3 for my best attempts to document instances of wear on the exterior sleeve... in addition to these call-outs, there is some general edge-rub, isolated areas of surface wear and bumped corners consistent with normal shelf wear (although all of these are minimum given the persistence of the shrink-wrap on the exterior). Record is housed within a standard white inner sleeve that has darkened a little due to age. Despite this inventory of asterisks, this remains a very nice presentation overall as the photos should attest. Buy with confidence.
