Description
A rare & very collectable Berliner 7" single sided record titled 'Puzzel Plate, inscribed is a date 20-1-1900 (almost 111 yrs. to the day) also the famous trade mark the 'Recording Angel' registered just 2 years earlier October 1898. Also inscribed 'E Berliner's Gramophone' and '940-B' then 'London', also 'Reproduced in Hanover', where his brother Joseph set up a pressing plant. This record I've had for about 55 years seldem played, It's in very good condition, plays well, there are 3 tracks:- one a piano solo, (must be one of the first solo piano recordings), track two:- a descripive sketch, track three:- vocal with piano accompaniment. It is offered with a strong cardboard cover/sleeve (many I had made at that time). Interestingly a couple have emerged recently at auction, refer the journal of the City of London Phonograph & Gramophone Soc. winter issue No. 40, pg.433.
