Description
In one of my first jobs in the music business, I was given a new album from Paramount Records. The album was a newly written and recorded rock opera titled "The Survival of St. Joan" by the group Smoke Rise. In 1970, this American progressive rock band created, recorded and released the album as a two-record set (on Paramount Records); they created the first American Rock Opera (following in a genre made famous by "Jesus Christ Superstar): "The Survival of St. Joan". To help promote the album Paramount Records created this special 4 disc box set.
1. This is a box set containing four 45-rpm records,
2. Containing (only) 8-tracks from the album 3. The cover art explains that this set was "Prepared Exclusively For Radio Station Programming". 4. The tracks on these 45-RPM singles are • "Survival" (3:40) • "Someone is Dying/Run Run" (3:30) • "Back in the World" (2:33) • "I'm Here/Love Me" (3:14) • "Lonely Neighbors" (2:40) • "Stonefire" (3:38) • "Darkwoods Lullaby" (1:45) • "Cannonfire" (3:44)
This special box set has been in my possession for 50 years. The description is marked "used" because it is not shrink-wrapped. However, I've never played the singles and the contents appear to be in excellent condition. The bottom of the box shows some wear from being moved a number of times as I moved across the country and back.
