Katy Fergusson, wife of a former pilot is found guilty of kidnapping and killing of a child, and is about to be executed in the gas chamber. At the last minute the execution is postponed of forty-eight hours and the investigation is entrusted to Lieutenant Sheridan, who discovers that Katy had a relationship with an ex convict. While Sheridan tries to buy time and to delay the execution, Ferguson is found dead together with a letter in which he declares to be the real responsible for the death of the child and that he killed himself in remorse . But other circumstances lead Sheridan to the conclusion that it is not suicide and that Fergusson was murdered by the man who organized the kidnapping of the baby. Eventually, after a series of dramatic events, Sheridan discovers the real guilty and may save Katy moments before the execution occurs.

Film version of a project that was originally created for Italian television, this "Chiamate 22-22 Tenente Sheridan"  is a modest attempt to imitate the American noir genre with jazzy music and dark atmospheres.  The starting idea from which the film takes its cue is the Italian RAI broadcast "Giallo Club", which in those years became highly successful. The role of the main character - Lieutenant Sheridan is committed to the effective sharp face Ubaldo Lay,  but although the story is naively contextualized with american uniformed policemen, American newspapers with English titles and so on, the Italian nature of the product is still evident . The lieutenant (and this film, the same way) is the work of writers Casacci-Ciambricco-Rossi and the same director.

Light paper cover, in VG- condition, corners with minimal wear, no bumps or heavy wear, thin seams and spine in good condition, no ring wear on front/back, but light yellowing all along three edges front/back, due to old transparent tape which has been removed. The removal of the adhesive tape caused some light tears of the original cover colour, which hasn't been restored yet. On the back are also visible some pen corrections, made with blue ball point.

Vinyl :   NM  

Lustre vinyl has been played with extreme care, not showing any tiny rub or visual imperfections, under a strong lamp. Plays clear and clean with NO background noise

Catalogue/Label :

45 RCA ITALIANA 45N 1114 original 1st and only italian pressing, both original black labels with silver lettering loook as new.

GRADING CODE

Grading is VISUAL, under a bright light. 

        NM  (Near Mint): Record has been opened, and probably played, but is in impeccable condition. I do not use "mint".

EX   (Excellent): Has signs of use or storage, but still considered top collection quality. Jackets may display some very light wear; vinyl may have a few light sleeve marks only visible in the highest light. Sound will full and clear, with little if any noise (NOTE, some records are just pressed poorly).

VG+ (Very Good Plus): Still a great copy but has a bit more wear. Vinyl may have some light scuffs or scratches, but nothing deep. Jacket may have some ringwear or seamwear. Sound should be great, with minimal if any noise.

VG  Very Good): A great play copy but clearly used. Vinyl will display many hairline scuffs or scratches, but will play with a tolerable amount of noise. Jacket may have splits and wear but will not be falling apart.

VG-(Very Good Minus): A used or worn copy, that has not been taken good care of. Vinyl will have many scuffs or scratches, but play through enjoyably despite audible background noise. Covers will have tears, splits, writing, or other issues. 

 G  Fair, Poor: A very rough copy. Will play through without skipping unless otherwise noted, although records of this grade are sold AS-IS.
