Back in the 80s when I was collecting rare Psych/Prog albums Holyground was one of the ‘Holy Grail’ labels. I couldn’t afford originals so when Holyground started reissuing albums in conjunction with Magic Mixture, I was in there. This issue (limited to 450 copies) was released in 1989 (not the second reissue from 1995) in similar packaging to the original – an orange paper cover over a black and white card sleeve – but this includes two A4 inserts and two A5 advertising stickers, and the cover is signed on the back by Holyground guys Dave Wood and Mike Levon and numbered 204/450. Like the original, it’s in Mono.
The vinyl looks unmarked – probably only played once or twice since I bought it. The cover is perfect except that the glue holding the orange paper cover has dried and it’s come apart – however this is a good thing because it was a bugger to get the album in and out of it and it often got ripped, whereas this one isn’t.
A real collectors’ item.
