The Book
Wolfgang »Bubi« Heilemann is one of the most renowned celebrity photographers of the 70s. Every superstar of the period posed for his lens. Literally thousands of slides are stored in his archive, among them highly intriguing and previously unpublished pictures of superstars like ABBA, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Bee Gees, T. Rex, The Sweet, The Bay City Rollers, and many other rock heroes.
Bubi has now opened his unique archive exclusively for Schwarzkopf & Schwarzkopf Publishers, revealing a vast range of photos, some already world-famous, others previously unknown. At the same time he recounts funny, amusing, and amazing anecdotes of his experiences with the famed celebrities of the 70s music biz. This book is packed with scores of rare pictures, because Bubi was one of the few privileged photographers ever allowed to get in the inside world of the phenomenon that was ABBA. He spent lots of time with the band, travelled with them, visited them at their houses, met their families. He also took pictures of live concerts, backstage, and shot at elaborate studio settings. While some of the pictures used for this book have become classics, many of them have not been available to the public before – a feast for the eyes of every die-hard ABBA lover.
