ABBA WITHDRAWN 6 (six) LP BOX SET FROM SOUTH AFRICA

Found this little known rarity hiding at the back of a cupboard...

6 LP box set from South Africa that was withdrawn due to lack of interest and lack of sales in 1982
in conjunction with CBS & Readers Digest.

The rest of the world had 4 & 5 LP box set releases, not 6.

The information I have found on this official release is as follows:

Similar to UK release in 1982. 

However:  

This 6 LP set was released in South Africa only and in conjunction with CBS to combat the already available Sunshine Records regular Abba album releases.  
Polar found it very difficult to get royalty payments from Sunshine Records and seeing their licensing deal with Sunshine had now expired went 
ahead and sanctioned this release which includes the full LP releases of:  
Abba,
Arrival,
The Album,
Voulez-Vous
&
Super Trouper
along with selected tracks from the Waterloo and Ring Ring LP releases. 

Sadly it failed to beef up the profit ratio at Polar.

South African Readers Digest Box 6 LP Box Set 1982

Reader's Digest & CBS Records for South Africa Only.

Quite the story and rarity within itself...

All albums have been professionally cleaned and there are light paper scuffs but...
I've been unable to test these records out due to my AIWA record player blowing up recently...
It's in for repair.  Therefore visually graded only as VG+

I can state with total candour: 
There are no obvious scratches and no obvious damage to the vinyls themselves.

The exterior box is sadly showing signs of wear.

Sadly sold as seen and described as reflected in the starting price...
