Description

This is the original 1979 UK Atlantic label pressing, but the label on side 2 is mis-pressed with side 2 of 'If You Want Blood' their previous 1978 album, but it plays 'Highway To Hell'. With the original 'Made in England' glossy sleeve and the earliest A-2 B-1 matrices, with the Arun-1 Arun-1 'EG' stampers of the very first pressings.

This was the band's fifth album (but the sixth release in Australia) and was intended by Atlantic to be their breakthrough album in America. The band had been touring pretty continuously for the previous 4 years and were sent to Miami to record with Eddie Kramer (ex-Hendrix engineer). The band did not get on with him and finally escaped to London where with Robert John 'Mutt' Lange they spent three months from March in the Roundhouse Studios recording a new album. The album was an instant success and soon went platinum after its release in July and their best selling before lead singer Bon Scott's death in 1980..."Shazbot, na-nu na-nu"..   The glossy sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some very light corner/edge wear and some light storage rubbing, with a couple of creases on the cover. The spine is intact and fully readable, the company inner and the lyric inner are intact & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX condition, with only a couple of very faint sleeve removal hairlines and one or two light needle scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of spindle markings on each side!   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops, crackle or hiss and definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some very brief low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really great, loud & clear listen.   The matrix nos. are; K-50628, A-2 stamper Arun-1 'EG', B-1, stamper Arun-1 'EG'. This is one of the very early copies of the first pressing of the original 1979 UK stereo issue of this album!
