GOLDMINE GRADE

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) or EXCELLENT (E)

A good description of a VG+ record is “except for a couple minor things, this would be Near Mint.” Most collectors, especially those who want to play their records, will be happy with a VG+ record, especially if it toward the high end of the grade (sometimes called VG++ or E+).

VG+ records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated playing has not misshapen the hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable.

VG+ covers should have only minor wear. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than one inch long) at the bottom, the most vulnerable location. Also, a VG+ cover may have some defacing, such as a cut-out marking. Covers with cut-out markings can never be considered Near Mint.

Highway to Hell:
Highway To Hell is the sixth studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, released on 27 July 1979. It was the band's fifth studio album released internationally and the sixth to be released in Australia. It was the last album featuring lead singer Bon Scott, who would die early the following year on 19 February 1980.
Albert Productions:
Australian record label founded in 1964. Albert Productions established its own record label and a state-of-the-art recording studio in central Sydney.
In the early 1970s they produced 20% of the music on the Australian charts, and regularly had three or four tracks in the top 20 simultaneously.  Working in collaboration with engineer Bruce Brown, Albert Productions produced a string of successful singles and albums for acts including former bandmate Stevie Wright, John Paul Young, AC/DC, The Angels, Cheetah and William Shakespeare.  The Albert Productions label is known internationally through its association with hard rock band AC/DC.

Play-Tested Sound: Barely a crackle throughout.  Plays beautifully.
Vinyl Condition: Excellent (EX)
PROMO small red P in circle sticker on side 1. In normal lighting the record looks mint on both sides. Under a desk lamp you need to hunt for the handful of surface marks. Small amount of light Spindle Marks. So close to NM.

Cover Condition: Excellent (EX)
Nice and vibrant colour. Small amount of ring wear at top near logo. Usual creasing down spine. Really light corner wear and dings bareless noticeable - under 4mm. Light edge wear top and bottom with only tiny spots of colour missing. Spine in great condition, paint is just starting to crack in the centre. Readable Words and nearly perfect spine. small 3cm crease bottom left corner.

In Australia, Highway To Hell was originally released with a slightly different album cover, featuring flames and a drawing of a bass guitar neck superimposed over the same group photo used on the international cover. Also, the AC/DC logo is a darker shade of maroon, but the accents are a bit lighter.

AC/DC First pressings produced by Albert Productions are commonly referred to as a 'Blue Label', or a 'Blue Roo'.  The Highway To Hell First Pressing features a Blue Label and surrounding yellow strobe effect.  Unlike other AC/DC First Pressings, Highway to Hell does not feature a small kangaroo on the centre label.
