Description

Proof-Ref ACETATE / Dubplate Mary Louise Thomas  before she changed her name to

GEORGIA CARR  ALPHABET BLUES / SOFTLY BABY This recording apparently  had to have been recorded no later than 1952. From Wikipedia: in 1952, she was heard by bandleader Stan Kenton. He suggested that she change her name to Georgia Carr, and won her a recording contract with Capitol Records  She released several singles on Capitol, with arrangements by Nelson Riddle, including "Softly" and "I Dream of You" (both 1952
THE SOFTLY BABY ON THIS ACETATE  IS NOT THE ALBUM VERSION OF THE NELSON RIDDLE RECORDING & I ASSUME IT IS ALSO NOT THE NELSON RIDDLE SINGLE
CONDITION: nice VG to VG+ looks EX+ mostly very shiny with virtually no surface lines  but it does have light surface hiss.
YOU CAN FIND  GEORGIA CARR / SOFTLY BABY (w/ NELSON RIDDLE) ON YOUTUBE I assume this acetate was her first recording of it & it is a different recording than on youtube.  BELOW IS A LINK TO MY UPLOAD OF THE ALPHABET BLUES ACETATE ON YOUTUBE
