ACKER BILK GOODNIGHT SWEET PRINCE 1960 very rare UK MELODISC 45/1547 in nice EX/EX- condition.
On offer is a very rare ACKER BILK 45rpm entitled GOODNIGHT SWEET PRINCE c/w EAST COAST TROT as released on MELODISC 45/1547 in 1960. Credited in full as being by: Mister Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz band.
GOODNIGHT SWEET PRINCE is highly sought after by collectors of 1960s UK hit singles. On 15 June 1960, it entered the Top 50 for one week only at Number 50 before sinking without trace from the charts. Goodnight Sweet Prince did not sell many copies back in 1960 and is seldom offered for sale these days.
The vinyl is in nice Ex/Ex- condition: it has one small circle mark on the A side which does not affect play at all. The vinyl is very clean with a very nice sheen.
The record labels are nice and clean, with no writing on them.
The record sounded great when I test played it on my BOSE record player.
The record comes housed in the plain brown manila sleeve that it was originally issued in.

EXCELLENT (EX) THE RECORD SHOWS SOME SIGNS OF HAVING BEEN PLAYED, BUT THERE IS VERY LITTLE LESSENING IN SOUND QUALITY. THE COVER AND PACKAGING MIGHT HAVE SLIGHT WEAR AND/OR CREASING.
VERY GOOD (VG) THE RECORD HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN PLAYED MANY TIMES, BUT DISPLAYS NO MAJOR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY, DESPITE NOTICEABLE SURFACE MARKS AND THE OCCASIONAL LIGHT SCRATCH. NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE COVER OR EXTRA ITEMS, WITHOUT ANY MAJOR DEFECTS, IS ACCEPTABLE.
GOOD (G) THE RECORD HAS BEEN PLAYED SO MUCH THAT THE SOUND QUALITY HAS NOTICEABLY DETERIORATED, PERHAPS WITH SOME DISTORTION AND MILD SCRATCHES. THE COVER AND CONTENTS SUFFER FROM FOLDING, SCUFFING OF EDGES, SPINE SPLITS, DISCOLOURATION, ETC.
