Description
ACE OF CLUBS ACL1187 ALEXIS KORNER'S BLUES INCORPORATED
A mid-60's session by the 'godfather' of UK blues, although this all instrumental disc is nearer to jazz than blues. The musicians in this version of the famous group were: KORNER (g); DICK HECKSTALL-SMITH/ART THEMEN (sax); JOHNNY PARKER (p); MIKE SCOTT (b); and PHIL SEAMEN (d). This is a first UK mono Decca pressing with the red/silver label from 1965.
TITLES:
Side 1: 'Blue Mink'/'Rainy Tuesday'/'Yogi'/'Sappho'/'Navy Blue'
Side 2: 'Royal Dooji'/'Preachin' The Blues'/'The Captain's Tiger'/'A Little Bit Groovy'/'Anything For Now'/'Chris Trundle's Habit'/'Trundlin''
CONDITION/DESCRIPTION: The disc is N- (M-) with no marks/wear, visible under a bright 'grading' light. The cover is EtoE- (VG+toVG) with some slight corner damage and edge rubbing. There is also some creasing down the left hand side adjacent to the spine. In addition, this has quite a lot of staining/surface dirt, as if Alexis's cigarette smoke in the cover picture had somehow leaked out onto to the sleeve itself!
