The Adicts: "Lunch With The Adicts" (Dining Out TUX-1, 1979) VINYL = M- / SLEEVE (+ INSERT) = M- Primera edició del magnífic debut dels ADICTS, un EP que és realment difícil de trobar i que ha arribat a vendre’s per uns 100 EUR. Gravat als Estudis Hillside d’Ipswich el 13 de setembre de 1979, conté 4 temes(*) que són una brillant mostra del millor punk melòdic… i juntament amb el primer LP, el "Songs Of Praise", el millor treball publicat mai pel grup (que, no ho oblidem, va ser un dels capdavanters de la generació coneguda com "UK82"). Aquest llegendari 7", del qual només se’n van fer 500 còpies, pot trobar-se amb dues variants de la portada: la que té el mur de rajoles de color marró (el fet que hi haja diferents tonalitats de marró apuntaria a la naturalesa DIY del disc) i la que és en blanc i negre… la qual, per cert, és la més "rara" de les dues: per exemple, a la pàgina web de Popsike, on es recopilen subhastes antigues, de les 18 còpies que apareixen ressenyades 12 són amb la "portada marró" i només 6 amb la "portada blanca". Aquesta còpia (amb la "portada blanca" i l’encart dels crèdits) es troba en un estat de conservació QUASI EXCEL·LENT: tant la portada com el vinil estan impecables, tan nous com el primer dia! (*) A Easy Way Out This Week B Straight Jacket Organised Confusion First pressing of the stunning debut by your favourite Clockwork Punks, an EP really hard to find and sometimes sold for 100 EUR. Recorded at Hillside Studios (Ipswich) on September 13, 1979, it features 4 tracks(*), excellent melody punk songs # according to Panciera’s "45 REVOLUTIONS" book: "after two years of increasingly acclaimed live gigs, the quartet recorded four tracks […], self-penned three-chords Punkers with simple but effective hookliness in a style clearly indebted to the Ramones"; # according to ADICTS’ official website: "they even managed, after their very first London show, at The Brecknock, who released the Lunch With The Adicts EP in 1979. It was a scintillating, cock-sure debut, surprisingly well executed for an opening gambit, and featured four songs, two of which remain constants in the band’s live set even today: the pounding mid-tempo Easy Way Out and the irresistible Straight Jacket". This legendary 7" was pressed in an edition of only 500 copies, and the sleeve exists with two colour variations: with the bricks wall in brown colour (different tones of brown exist) and the another one in black and white… this "white cover" is the rarest (for instance, the Popsike website compiles from early auctions 18 copies: 12 with "brown cover" and only 6 with "white cover"). This copy for sale (with "white cover" and insert) is in NEAR MINT condition: both sleeve and vinyl are as clean and unmarked AS NEW!
