Description

ADVANCE GUARD of the 40’s
1955 EmArcy LP

This wasn’t just another compilation of tracks culled from the 78rpm stacks of Mercury and EmArcy records, there were quite a few unreleased sessions in this collection. The Red Rodney sides are from a never before released session in 1947, and the Chubby Jackson sides are from 1945. You’ll hear some really vintage young Billy Eckstine here and one of the earliest of Gene Ammons recordings when he was leading his own combo in 1949

This is a deep groove EmArcy Lp as shown, with the glorious heavy laminated jacket.
