I was fortunate enough to be able to pick this up from Nitro Records when being in the street team for 5 years. They never hit stores because it always sold out in the pre-order stages.
This is the extremely rare and way out of print. This is by far one of the best box sets I have ever seen. First of all, everything is housed in a black velvet box with the AFI logo on top…very elegant. Next, you’ll get the AFI pendant that only comes with these box sets and cannot be bought anywhere else! Then there is the 24 page, full color book with astounding pictures of the band on and off stage, lyrics, and interviews. The pages are all glossy and thus very shiny, and it is printed on a thick card stock, so it will stay together for years. Finally, you will get all five of AFI’s releases on Nitro Records in redesigned jackets and pressed on beautiful vinyl. The sleeves are a flat back, and the artwork of each album has been printed in glossy black, so you can see the original design of the album by looking at it at an angle. Very awesome, and truly unique! The albums included in the set are Answer That and Stay Fashionable, Very Proud of Ya, Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes, Black Sails in the Sunset, and Art of Drowning. What’s more, the set you will be receiving is still sealed in its original factory wrap, and will arrive to you packed the same way that I received it from Nitro Records. You will be the very first one to even pick up the box let alone play the records. This would make a perfect gift for an AFI fan or just anyone into punk rock. Buyer pays shipping of $16 in the US (sorry, it weighs about 6 lbs!), more elsewhere! I've researched this product and am not able to determine if its a first or second press without opening it.
