Description
This record is a 12 inch LP with a 30 minute radio show on each side from Armed Forces Radio & Television Services. Side A which is show number 99 is a show titled TOSCANINI The Man Behind The Legend. Music of Tchaikovsky and George Gershwin played by the NBC Symphony Orchestra led by Arturo Toscanini. Also a discussion of the music and composers with musicologist, Dr.Albert Sirmay. The program number 670 on the B side of the record is titled HAWAII CALLS which is a program of Hawaiian Singers broadcasting live from a hotel on the island.

Description: This recording is a part of the radio series “Toscanini: The Man Behind the Legend,” which was a tribute to conductor Arturo Toscanini. The broadcasts consist of music performed by the NBC Orchestra as well as interviews with composers, conductors, orchestra members, and other people associated with Toscanini. This segment includes performances of Tchaikovsky's Trepak from The Nutcracker Suite and Gershwin's An American in Paris, and features an interview with music editor and arranger Dr. Albert Sirmay.
