Description

On offer here is an excellent example of the legendary 4000 DB tape deck with the famous Dolby noise reduction system.It has a few minor cosmetic blemishes but it performs superbly and looks great.It pulls well on re-wind and f/forward quietly and smoothly,it has been tested for recording through phono and mikes. You will probably already know about its superior build,reliability and performance qualities.If you dont know there is a wealth of information on the net to inform and I have posted a link for you to go to below.This machine is identical to the famous and much sought after 4000DS MK II except for one major improvement which was the addition of the now world famous "Dolby noise reduction system"which eliminated tape hiss and significantly improved the signal to noise ratio.YES this model has a better spec than the 4000ds MK II!!The akai 4000DS MK II and 4000 DB range were sturdily built of course which resulted in enviable reliability along  with superb performance characteristics and  demonstrate why after around 30  years these machines are much desired.There is no doubt, in my opinion that  this is a great example of a first rate machine in great working condition,make no mistake,these machines (I feel many other audiophiles would possibly agree)deserve a nobel prize for:reliability,sturdiness of construction and great sound!Never mind value!

I have thoroughly checked all functions and of course everything works as they always should eg.Playback,record,F.Forward and rewind.Counter,VU meters + lights.Sound on sound,sound with sound and the echo facility.A wonderful example of a legend.Heads have been cleaned and de-magged.This machine  comes with one empty  reel and one reel of tape and not the reels shown.
