Description
This is an AKAI model X-2000S, it has 8 track and cassette along with the reel to reel.
It is in fair condition, powers up, and all the belts and bands turn, but some seam to be a little sluggish. The reel to reel plays as does the 8 track, recording has not been checked. The cassette FF and Rewind work, but I have not been able to get it to play; cassette does not sit into the loader properly. There are no visible grooves in the heads, and all the mechanical features seam to work, but have not been tested by a professional. There are 2 buttons missing for the reel to reel play, rewind, fast forward, these functions can still be performed, and the buttons can be purchased to replace the old ones, the front cover is not included. This is a vintage stereo system, and would be ideal for the collector to add to his collection, or as a novelty for someone. There is a copy of the manual with this item, and there are 12 - 7” reels with tape, and music, which include, Original Sound of Music and Ray Conniff. It has the speakers and amplifier built in.
