You might not be aware of this but chances are that you haven t actually listened to music until you hear Al Green singing. Like very few other voices Al Green found his own scale and octave of the human voice there in the early 70s. His very own scale where he mixed joy, sorrow and lust in soul music like no other one quite had. Listening to it will undoubtedly do things with you as a   and add another dimension to it. I m not that big soul aficionado but one or two albums by the man should or could be in your collection. I might be odd but my personal favorite actually is 94s Don t look back produced by the fine young cannibals. A bit more polish than the hi records stuff but pastor Greens singing is just as exquisite as usual.
