AL JONES - ALUN ASHWORTH JONES
PARLOPHONE LABEL 1969 ORIGINAL MONO FIRST & ONLY UK PRESSING WITH FRONT LAMINATED FLIP BACK SINGLE SLEEVE, IN EXCELLENT + PLAYING CONDITION. THE FIRST COPY TO BE LISTED ON EBAY THIS YEAR.
PMC 7081
Released in 1969 and from my late father's collection I am offering today this Extremely rare Folk/Psyche album by AL JONES titled 'ALUN ASHWORTH JONES'.
Other artists that acompany Al on this album are Gordon Huntley on steel guitar, Percy Jones on Bass, Harold McNair on flute & Brian Dodson on drums .
This is a MONO 1969 UK 1st & only pressing on the 1st Press Black & Yellow Parlophone label. ( much rarer than the stereo edition ) THIS LP DID NOT SELL IN HUGE QUANTITY WHEN IT WAS RELEASED MAKING THIS RARE AND VERY HARD TO FIND AND IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IN NICE CONDITION. NO OTHERS FOR SALE ANYWHERE ON THE NET. This LP amazingly is in EXCELLENT+ playing condition, one of the best copies you are likely to find.
The front laminated flip back single sleeve printed by Garrod & Lofthouse is not the best example as can be seen in my pictures but it is certainly VERY GOOD, with fully legible spine text, and free from any splits or tears etc but it has 10p written in pen in the top left corner of the back which is barely noticeable due to the back being black. For anyone that has never heard this album, it is superb.
THIS IS THE 1969 UK 1ST & ONLY PRESSING ON THE 1ST PRESS B&Y PARLOPHONE LABEL, AND 1ST PRESS FRONT LAMINATED FLIP BACK SINGLE SLEEVE THIS LP IS VERY RARE AND VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND SO DON'T MISS OUT ON THE CHANCE TO BUY THIS GREAT ALBUM. A GREAT ALBUM FOR ANY SERIOUS FOLK OR PSYCHE COLLECTORS.
Tracks on this album are SIAMESE CAT - COME JOIN MY ORCHESTRA - IRE AND SPOTTISWOOD - TRAMP - SARAH IN THE ISLE OF WIGHT - WHAT I WAS THINKING - RIVERBEND - RAILWAY LINES - BIG CITY.
The VINYL, The Vinyl visually and audibly is in excellent condition, I have just played it through and it plays beautifully absolutely no loud pops or sticks & skips .
The SLEEVE, The Garrod & Lofthouse printed front laminated flip back sleeve is very good, It is showing ring wear and edge wear and has 10p written on the back in black ink ( barely noticeable )but still a respectable example.
The LABELS, The Black & Yellow Parlophone labels are very clean, with minimal spindle traces free from unwanted writing or stickers etc.
The INNER, The Original company inner is clean but has the catalogue number written neatly in the corner and the bottom is starting to split.
I try to be accurate in my grading as I know what its like to buy miss graded items but won't insult you by writing song lyrics etc.
