Do we need to bother writing anything here? Seriously - once you've read The Alan Parsons Project and Joe Claussell on the same release it should be game over for any doubts about whether to stick it in the shopping cart. But for the one person who remains unconvinced, let's summarise. 11 studio albums, 15 years, and a legacy that has helped define and inspire what progressive and art rock are. The Alan Parsons Project are one of those acts that genuinely helped shape the music we listen to today, even if the duo - Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson - don't get nearly enough nods in the mid-21st Century. Joe Claussell, meanwhile, belongs to an exclusive club of house music and house-aligned producers and DJs that understand and emphasise not just instrumentation and musicality, but also songwriting as a fundamental element in any dance floor gem. Say no more.
