Description

ALAN SHORTER – Orgasm / Parabola (1969) Verve-8768 – EX/M- (cover/vinyl)



Rare avant / free jazz set by this fluegelhorn player joined by Muhammad Ali on drums and Leandro Barbieri on tenor with either Charles Haden or Reginald Johnson on bass on all but two tracks. This album is sometimes referred to also as “Parabola” as it was released in Europe under that title. This is the original U.S. issue entitled “Orgasm” and issued in 1968/69 – I’ve seen both dates used as the release date. It’s an original black / silver label issue.



This is a beautiful copy. The cover is bright and tight with no seam splits – only the slightest hit of ring wear and a cut out hole in the front lower left corner. The vinyl is super clean and glossy and looks uplayed. I grade this conservatively: EX/M- (cover/vinyl).
