On offer in this auction is the extremely rare 12" 78-rpm disc on CLASSIC 2.084 of ALBAN BERG's  'QUATRE MELODIES, op. 2' performed by Irene Joachim, soprano, and the 'Orchestre de Chambre', conducted by Rene LEIBOWITZ.  This record is near mint (NM) and comes with the original store sleeve in very good (VG) condition. This is the first pressing/issue of this record with the yellow/red label.  A second issue of this record exists with a red/white/black label. This record was issued contemporaneously in the United States on a 12" LP in Ross Russell's DIAL RECORDS 'Contemporary Classics' Series as Dial LP-15. The only sale of this record I have been able to find on popsike was the second issue version, which sold for $225.00 US in 2012.

This record is near mint (NM) with extremely clean, glossy, scratch-free surfaces that look unplayed. The records have been visually graded under a strong light and play through well and clearly on my phonograph set-up. Both labels show very few if any spindle marks.
