Description
I have very sadly decided to sell the remainder of my own record collection over the next few weeks. It is varied in its content from 60/70's Folk/Rock, incl rare Zeppelin and Floyd 1st presses, some Beatles and Dylan,including Japanese presses, various now deleted Audiophile pressings and female vocal. Some records I have owned since new, others I have carefully selected and picked up along the way. I have always tried to collect the best and earliest copies.
I will keep descriptions as simple as possible rather than do elaborate advertisements.
Whilst I have owned the records they have only ever been played on either a Michell Orbe or SME Model 20 turntable, both fitted with SME V tonearms and quality cartridges such as the Lyra Delos. My last phono stage was the Reference Whest PS 30RDT SE coupled to Vitus amplification and Sonus Faber Cremona M speakers. Not only has this been a revealing system, giving me an accurate assessment of all records played on it, but it has, I hope, always looked after the vinyl.
I clean all my records on an Okki Nokki RCM before putting them in new Nagaoka anti-static record sleeves and plastic outer sleeves. They have always been very carefully stored in a smoke free enviroment.
I will grade using the Record Collector system, erring on the side of caution as I have sold the SME. I am also selling the phono stage and cartrige. I am happy to discuss details with any buyers.

Legendary Recording - Incredibly Rare
Outer sleeve - VG+. The front and rear covers are completely intact, no tears, creases or marks, just shelf wear showing a light imprint of the record outer. The spine is intact aside from a little delamination and a little tear, 5mm or so at the top. The edges show only minimal shelf wear and only 2 have a small number of minor creases. The record openings have splayed a little. The cover though has discoloured with time, from sun damage I think, mainly to the front and back, although there is a little discolouration to the inside foldout. There is also written in green ink "SB 2131/2" on the rear cover, top right hand corner.
Labels - N Mint all of them. Only a couple of very faint spindle traces can be seen in strong light on any of them.
Vinyl visualy - Sides 1,2 and 3 look Near Mint under both normal and bright light. On Side 4 , a few light surface marks can be seen when closely looked at, with one or two a little deeper.
Vinyl play - Although I originally only ever played this right through on my system once, I have just played it right through again on a Technics 1210, no longer having the SME, but still linked through the VITUS and SONUS FABERS.
It played absolutely beautifully. Even on this turntable, the sound is absolutely incredible. The scale and dynamics are the best I have personally ever heard on a classical album.
This recording has had the absolute minimal play, that is completely evident from both the visual look of the vinyl and hearing it today. Both at the beginning, between tracks and during quiet passages any vinyl surface noise is as minimal as I have heard on any record of this age.
Side 1 is superb.
Side 2 has 3 small 'clicks' part way through on track 2 that's all and may benefit from further cleaning.
Side 3 is superb.
Side 4 is almost the same as the others aside from a short section (a minute or two) halfway through, where the aforementioned marks can just be heard. These are light 'clicks' but not intrusive and certainly for myself, do not spoil this record.
Given the rarity of this recording and of those still remaining in circulation, how many are in good playable condition, I think anyone seriously looking for a copy of this record will be very pleased with this one. The cover certainly does not reflect the condition of the records. They have perhaps only been played a half dozen times at most (including my own 2 plays).
