Description
Up for auction is an incredibly clean original copy of the album "Albert Ayler In Greenwich Village" released on Impulse (A-9155) in 1967. Gatefold cover. Original stereo pressing, with orange and black Impulse labels, with original Impulse inner sleeve. Cover is in beautiful condition and looks as if it were just taken out of the shrink wrap, hardly any blemishes to speak of. One really tiny rubbed corner at bottom of spine. Inside gatefold, cover is bone white, looks beautiful, unmarked. Call it Near Mint+. The vinyl is equally nice, high gloss luster and sheen, no marks around spindle holes, no scratches or scuffs. Record looks as if it has been played once. Super clean. Call it Near Mint+. I bought this record from jazz dealer/expert Fred Cohen at the Jazz Record Center in New York City, and he gave this record his highest grade--"N", which stands for "as new". I played it once to check out the sound quality, and it's been stored ever since. Sounds beautiful, as new. You probably won't find a nicer copy of this album any time soon. Many consider this record to be the finest that Ayler recorded for the Impulse label.
