ALDO PARISOT PLAYS BACH COMPLETE CELLO SUITES 3 LP SET
THE RENOWNED BRAZILIAN CELLIST ALDO PARISOT PLAYS J. S. BACH: THE SIX CELLO SUITES. Ultra rare 3 LP Box set recorded and issued only in Brazil in 1977 on Phonodisc 0-33-502-001/2/3. This set comes with its original booklet written in Portuguese. By the time this recording was made, Aldo Parisot was settled in the USA where he was Professor of Music at the School of Music of the University of Yale. This recording was made during his short stay in Brazil in 1977 to participate as the director of an International Cello Contest. Parisot plays a 1730 Stradivarius cello, that belonged to Emanuel Feuermann which is believed to be the last cello made by the Master of Cremona, and for that reason it is known all over the world as “The Swan”. Further to Parisot outstanding performance, the magnificent Stradivarius sound is wonderfully captured in this recording. As far as I know, this is only the second time this set is offered at eBay.
Box condition: VG++, with only a small wear at the bottom, near the bottom right corner.
Record Condition:
Side A: VG++/NM- (Some harmless hairlines at the beginning)
Side B: VG++/NM- (A harmless rubbing mark at the beginning)
Side C: Near Mint
Side D: Near Mint
Side E: VG+ (some scuffs and hairlines and plays well with some occasional non-distracting soft ticks and pops. Near the end there is a somewhat deeper scratch, which causes about 40 repetitive clicks).
Side F: VG++/NM- (a couple of small harmless light surface scratches at the beginning)
