Paese, anno d’edizione : USA - 1983 - la colonna sonora fu registrata a Londra negli studi di Abbey Road. due vinili furono stampati in Giappone dalla JVC per la loro elevata tecnologia - The soundtrack was recorded to London in Abbey Road studios. Two vinyls were manufactered in Japan by JVC for their high technology 

Condizioni : il cofanetto mostra qualche modesta usura lungo i bordi. Il retro è interamente di colore argento, non ha difetti. Grande stato, EX+/ All'interno c'è un inserto, in perfetto stato, con titoli dei brani e vari crediti mentre nella sua parte inferiore troviamo scritte a mano il numero di catalogo, 2-001, la data d'emissione, 30/10/83, il numero 156 dell'edizione limitata di 2500 copie e la firma del responsabile, per cortesia, osservate la scansione n° 3 / i due vinili sono a 45 giri per una migliore  qualità di riproduzione e hanno le originali buste interne in materiale trasparente. Sembravano come mai stati suonati prima del mio doveroso ascolto e proprio per questo ho rilevato minimi clicchettii e qualche lieve rumore superficiale in poche tracce del primo disco, il secondo è senza difetti; grande stato, NEAR MINT

Condition : the box shows some slight wear along the edges. The back is entirely in silver color without any flaws, EX+/ Inside there is an insert, in great shape, with the track titles and various credits and in its lower part we find the handwriting of the catalog number, 2-001, the date of release, 30/10/83, the number 156 of 2500 copies limited edition and the authorized signature, please, look to the scan No. 3 / two vinyls turn at 45 rpm for the best playback quality and have the original inner sleeves in a transparent material. They looked as unplayed before my right and proper listen and for this I have heard some minor clicks and a bit of slight surface noise in a few tracks on the first disc, the second is flawless, NEAR MINT

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : benchè già settantenne, North non rinunciò comunque alla sua non ortodossia musicale anche con un film di "spada e stregoneria" della Walt Disney per un pubblico giovane. Grande musica sinfonica combinata a soluzioni moderne quali un ampio uso di strumenti a percussione e i repentini cambiamenti di movimento all'interno della stessa traccia che passa da impetuose e intense musicalità a lentissime armonie. In certi casi la forte percussività presente in diverse tracce dà la sensazione di una cruente rasoiata ed emotivamente sopraggiunge una scarica di adrenalina. Non è un caso che Alex North sia stato l'unico compositore insieme a Morricone a ricevere il premio Oscar per la carriera oltre ad una quindicina di "nominations".

Notes : even though North were already seventy years old, he did not quit his musical unorthodoxy also with a sword and sorcery movie of Walt Disney for a young audience. Great symphonic music combined with contemporary solutions, such as a great use of percussion instruments and the sudden changes of movement within the same track going from impetuous and intense musicalities in slow harmonies. In some cases the loud percussiveness in several tracks gives the feeling of a bloody razor-slash and emotionally an adrenaline rush comes up. It is no coincidence that Alex North has been the only composer together with Morricone to receive the Lifetime Achievement Academy Award in addition to some fifteen nominations.
