Description
Alfredo Casella ( Turin 25 July 1883 - Boston 5 March 1947 ) was an Italian composer, pianist and conductor, entered the Conservatoire de Paris in 1896 to study piano under Louis Diémer and composition under Gabriel Fauré. During his Parisian period, Debussy, Stravinsky, Ravel, de Falla were acquitances and he was in contact with Busoni, Mahler and Richard Strauss. Back in Italy during World War I, he teached at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Felice in Rome. From 1927 to 1929 Casella was the principal conductor of the Boston Pops. He was one of the best-known Italian piano virtuosos of his generation, and together with Arturo Bonucci ( cello ) and Alberto Poltronieri ( violin ) he formed the Trio Italiano in 1930. This group played to great acclaim in Europe and America.

3-4 = more traces of use, sonic wear from light greying. An inferior average copy, light scratches possible
4 = some sounding wear, heavier rubs and marks, scratches possible
5 = obvious sounding wear, heavy rubs, marks, scratches. An unsatisfactory copy.
