ALICE COOPER Billion Dollar Babies 1973 WB 1st Press BS2685 Mr Nice Guy EX/VG+
Billion Dollar Babies is the peak of Alice Cooper's classic band era. Released in 1973, it hit number one in both the US and UK and remains one of the defining hard rock albums of the decade.
The band — Alice Cooper, Michael Bruce, Glen Buxton, Dennis Dunaway, and Neal Smith — delivered their most fully realized record here, balancing shock rock theatrics with genuine songwriting craft. "No More Mr. Nice Guy" and "Elected" were top 40 singles. "Billion Dollar Babies," "Generation Landslide," and "I Love the Dead" round out one of the strongest side twos in hard rock.
This is an original US first pressing on Warner Bros. Records, BS 2685. Pressed at the Capitol Winchester plant — confirmed by the —< stamp on both sides. Lacquers are WW2 (Side 1) and WW3 (Side 2), Winchester / Warner Bros. contract pressing designations, with the numeral indicating lacquer generation.
Produced by Bob Ezrin for Nimbus 9 Productions, Ltd. Ezrin's production work with Alice Cooper through this period — from Love It to Death through Billion Dollar Babies — defined the theatrical hard rock sound of the early 1970s.
The gatefold packaging is one of the most elaborate of the era. Green embossed snakeskin cover with the iconic gold coin medallion and rhinestone ring on both front and back. Interior spread features individual band portraits with facsimile signatures and live performance photos. Both rhinestone rings intact. Original clear plastic inner sleeve present.
